By Katie Hopkins for MailOnline. Especially not as a mum of three with pink hair and a face to frighten pit bulls. But that's Havana for you. And it's on offer everywhere.
Cuba Hotels and Places to Stay
From north to south, Havana to Santiago de Cuba, amidst the decaying buildings, propagandizing billboards and food stores with empty shelves there are two things in Cuba which are always in full supply: prostitutes and sex tourists. In a country with few employment options that offer enough upon which to subsist and an embargo that contributes to substandard living conditions for the majority of the population, women and girls flock to densely populated Havana in search of sexual employment in hotels, bars, restaurants and on the streets. Sex tourists flock to Havana and other cities in search of a form of escapism that is cheap, safe and exotic. In Cuba, foreign men can command Cuban women and girls with the same ease used to order cocktails. Cuba's current tourism boom is one not seen since the s, when under former dictator Fulgencio Batista, the island lured tourists with promises of cheap cigars, rum, casinos and prostitutes. Cuba's current leader, Fidel Castro, led the Cuban Revolution in , promising to free Cuba of its servitude to the rich and famous Americans and Europeans. The post Cuban state tried to outlaw prostitution and attempted to remedy the conditions which created a supply of sex workers. Objectives of Castro's revolution included initiatives aimed at opening doors to women's reintegration into the country's socioeconomic life in terms of education, healthcare, employment and attaining overall full gender equality. His attempts in achieving these goals had been somewhat successful until the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe.

I just read a few articles on the net stating that female prostitutes are brought to resorts to spend time with foreigners and do their job Apparently it's extremely common and has become such a norm that you can't even tell who is one and who isnt I think you might be getting mixed up with that guy in new york with the 5, dollar hooker - y'know the holier than thou guy. You read articles on the net that female pros are brought to the resorts, would you please care to post the url's for the articles? But don't worry Is it just me or for someone who is just back from Cuba do you seem to be asking a lot of questions about the place and what it is like?!?!? I must agree with Steve. This is not a new issue and why is it even being discussed.
That kind of comment is par for the course with Joe. With such a tantalizing and forbidden destination so close to the United States, Joe and his boyfriend Scott had planned an illegal excursion to Cuba by flying through Canada. Of course, President Trump has made it more difficult to travel to Cuba , part of his attempt to undo everything Obama accomplished. He says that four days in Havana should suffice. Instead, there are shed-like structures where people line up every morning to get their rations. Sounds like something out of Animal Farm.
